How
can I support the ministries of St. Paul's?
Ministry
is vitally important to the life of a church because
it helps people grow and offers a way for people to
serve. Below are several ways that you can financially
support the ministries of St. Paul's.
General
Fund – All money that is given without designation
goes to the general fund. All ministries and operating
expenses are taken care of through this fund. All tithes
and offerings are considered “general fund.”
Improvement
Fund – Money designated for this fund will
be used specifically for the improvement of our facilities
and is managed by our Board of Trustees.
Scholarship
Fund – We love to help out the students of
St. Paul's as they pursue further education. Money given
with this designation will be distributed to recipients
of the St. Paul's Scholarship. (Information on qualification
criteria and guidelines of the scholarship selection
process are available in the church office.)
Brother's
Keeper Fund – St. Paul's contributes to the
Christian Clearinghouse which aids people in need from
the community. The Brother's Keeper Fund, however, is
used specifically for people in need from our own congregation.
When times are tough and money is tight, members of
the St. Paul's family can seek confidential help from
the pastor. Designated giving to this fund helps our
own people in need.
Endowment
Fund - The Endowment Fund is similar to a
savings account where only the interest is spent. The
interest is used to further the mission, ministry, and
maintenance of St. Paul's Church. By not spending the
principal, the endowment will grow and continue forever
to be used for God's work.
Gifts
can be “designated” or “undesignated.” Individuals may
give to the fund by designating one of the following
areas: Missions, Music, Building Preservation, or Special
Projects. Individuals may also give an “undesignated”
gift and allow the church to use it in areas that are
most needed.
Gifts
may include outright gifts, bequests, deferred gifts,
etc. Contributions may be given in any of the following
forms: money, securities, personal property, real property,
life insurance, gifts by wills, bequests, and life income
gifts.
