We'd
love to have you as a guest at St. Paul's Church. We
pride ourselves in being a welcoming church with a comfortable,
home-like feel. St. Paul's is a great place to
put down roots and begin to grow, both in relationships
and spiritual faith. We invite you to become a
part of our church family and a part of a rich history.
Founded
in 1870, there is a great history of faith at St. Paul's.
For years, men, women, and children have gathered here
to worship, love, and serve God and fulfill the mission
of the church: to go and make disciples.
Our
Methodist roots go back to the founding of the Methodist
Episcopal Church in 1784 by John Wesley, Thomas Coke,
and Francis Asbury. In 1946 there was a merger
with the United Brethren Church and we became St. Paul's
Evangelical United Brethren Church. The Evangelical
United Brethren Church merged with the Methodist Church
in 1968 to become the United Methodist Church.
Throughout
the merging and changes of time, our mission and focus
today is just as it always has been. As we aim to “Offer
Christ and Discover LIFE,” we try to do so in a way
that is relevant and applicable in our ever-changing
culture.
