Community
Dinners
Team
Leader—Mary Creech
Sunday
dinner is a long celebrated tradition for many, but
for some it is an unknown. The Findlay area has many
people who aren't sure where their next meal might be
coming from, and St. Paul's is seeking to fill that
need. On the fourth Sunday of each month, we host a
community dinner for anyone needing a meal or some conversation.
These dinners require many helping hands, from shopping
and food prep to interacting and eating with our guests
to serving and cleaning up. This is a great ministry
for the servant hearted person.
Fellowship
Ministry
Team
Leader – Sharon Jess
St.
Paul's is a large family, and it's always nice to gather
together in fellowship with one another. This ministry
allows that to happen. Throughout the year there are
numerous opportunities for the people of St. Paul's
to gather. From our annual Harvest Luncheon to picnics
and dinners, you won't want to miss out. We could use
your help in making these events happen.
Front
Porch Ministry
Team
Leader – Stacy Essinger
Each
week we have guests visit St. Paul's to see if we're
the right fit for them. We desire to extend a warm welcome
to them and to give more information about ourselves.
Members of this ministry will take a packet of information
to the home of those guests who have visited St. Paul's
three times. These are very short, non-threatening visits
that last only a few minutes and are simply a friendly
“hello” and delivery of some printed materials about
St. Paul's. If you love to meet new people, this is
a great spot for you.
Funeral
Dinner Ministry
Team
Leader—Kay Livingston
This
service ministry helps nourish the body and spirit of
families from St. Paul's. This team is responsible for
preparing and serving meals for funerals at the church.
Even though their work includes food, their ministry
also includes offering support and love to bereaved
families.
Gardening
Ministry
Team
Leader—
Gardening
brings joy to those who love the outdoors, but what
about those who enjoy the outdoors and cannot manage
their own gardens? This ministry is designed to bring
that joy back to our shut-ins and older congregation
members. Members of this ministry use their talents
in gardening by going to others and taking care of their
gardens through planting, weeding, and other activities.
They also maintain and care for our church grounds.
As flowers bring enjoyment to us, the Gardening Ministry
brings enjoyment to others.
Greeters
Ministry
Team
Leader – Linda Andrews
When
a guest comes to your house, warmth, hospitality, and
a friendly welcome are customary. At St. Paul's we feel
that regular attenders and guests deserve that same
greeting. Our Greeters Ministry is that “front line”
of hospitality, making people feel welcome and at home.
We're always looking for some more friendly and welcoming
people to be a part of this important and rewarding
ministry.
Missions
Ministry
Team
Leader—Miriam Vance
This
ministry encompasses a number of areas at St. Paul's,
from supporting missionaries through monetary giving
to physical mission work by our congregation. Some of
the ministries that we support financially include Red
Bird Mission and Salvation Army, as well as supporting
missionaries through Campus Crusade for Christ and Wycliffe
Bible Translators. Hands-on projects that we've been
involved in recently include Habitat for Humanity and
an intergenerational work camp at Henderson Settlement,
an impoverished area in Appalachian Kentucky.
Our
most exciting Missions involvement is with our recent
gift to the Jesus Film Project. St. Paul's has adopted
the Bena language, a Tanzanian language spoken by 568,00
people. Our adoption includes funding the translation
of the film into the Bena language, equipment for the
mission team, and the team's salary and expenses for
one year. What an exciting opportunity to be able to
help these Tanzanian people hear about Jesus in their
own language!
Nursery
Ministry
Team
Leader—Andrea Seeley
We
love children and look for ways to care for and nurture
the little ones who come to St. Paul's. Our Nursery
Ministry offers this care on Sunday mornings and for
special events. This is a great ministry for Grandparents
whose grandchildren are far away. If you love children,
consider being a part of this ministry.
Outreach
Ministry
Team
Leader—Stacy Essinger
The
focus of the Outreach Ministry is two-fold: 1) to give
skills and training to our church family so that they
feel comfortable and confident to reach out and share
Jesus with their friends and loved ones, and 2) to create
opportunities and an atmosphere into which new people
might become acquainted and involved in the life of
the church and a relationship with Jesus. The Outreach
Ministry strives to always be aware of how our church
looks and is viewed by newcomers. We want to be more
than a friendly church...we want to be a church that
“ Offers Christ ” and helps others “ Discover
LIFE !” We'd love to add more people to our team
who share that passion.
Seniors
Ministry
Team
Leader—Pauline Bishop
Our
Seniors gather on the third Thursday of each month at
11:30 for lunch and a time of fellowship and games.
Other events include day trips, tours, and shows.
Visitation
Ministry
Team
Leader—Carol Reynolds
We
believe that every person from St. Paul's is a minister,
and therefore we try to have as many people carrying
out ministry as possible. The Visitation Ministry is
made up of individuals who have a desire to bring comfort
and a ray of sunshine to the lives of those in the hospital,
nursing homes, or those confined to their homes. Members
of this ministry can perform short-term visits with
those in the hospital or have the opportunity to develop
long-term relationships through partnering with a nursing
home resident or shut-in and visiting with them on a
regular basis.
Welcome
Center Ministry
Team
Leader – Katie Hause
This
ministry is just as important as the Greeters Ministry.
Our Welcome Center is the area where people can go to
get all sorts of information. Designed with guests AND
regular attenders in mind, the people in this
ministry help assist with directions, class and small
group information and sign-ups, as well as answer any
questions that someone might have. It's a great way
to minister to others and meet a lot of special people.
Welcome
Home
Team
Leader - Erin Gonder
This
is a new ministry for families welcoming home a new
baby! Would you be willing to provide a meal for a family
in their first weeks home with a new baby? This ministry
will help to make the first days at home a little easier
by providing a helping hand and a nourishing meal.
Stop by the Welcome Center or contact Erin Gonder to
sign up.
